Josh Newby serves as the President/CEO for the Council on Aging of West Florida. He received a bachelor's degree in public relations and a master's degree in strategic communication from the University of West Florida. Newby has previously worked at both UWF and Ballinger Publishing before coming to Council on Aging, where he oversaw marketing strategy, media, social media, photo and video production, fundraising and more. In his role as CEO, he oversees a $7 million budget, 60 staff persons, administrates the agency's variety of federal and state services, and advocates statewide on elder issues.
He is a graduate of the Pensacola Chamber Foundation's Leadership Pensacola program and serves on the board of Baptist Hospital, the Leadership Pensacola Curriculum Committee, and the Florida Council on Aging. Newby was also named to the 2023 and 2024 IN Weekly Power Lists.
