Laura has been with the agency since 2002. She oversees financial operations and is responsible for managing the agency’s grants. Under her financial leadership, the agency has maintained a solid reputation throughout the community as good stewards of the funds entrusted to them. Laura serves as the agency’s primary grant writer receiving several coveted grants on behalf of the agency; including the Pensacola Bay Area IMPACT 100 grant in 2013 and International Paper Foundation Grant 2011-2015.
Laura spent seven years in restaurant management after moving to Florida in 1995 and just prior to coming to Council on Aging, Laura completed two years as a certified business analyst at the University of West Florida Small Development Center while working on her MBA.
Laura is active in the community, serving as a United Way loaned executive, Florida Respite Coalition board member and Milton High School Soccer Booster treasurer. She has also volunteered as manager for the Futbol Club of Santa Rosa Boys Revolution Select soccer team from U-12 through U-18. Laura graduated from Leadership Pensacola (LeaP) in 2007. She served two subsequent years on the LEAP planning committee coordinating community service days for incoming LeaP classes.
Laura has an undergraduate degree from Belhaven College in Mississippi and a master’s degree in business administration from the University of West Florida. After graduating from Belhaven, she worked several years as an assistant to a member of the Mississippi House of Representatives.
